Juupajoki

Juupajoki is a municipality mid-west of the Finland. It is located in the area Pirkanmaa and the province of Western Finland.

Until the extreme end of the 19th century, Juupajoki is only one whole of small villages of the parish of Orivesi. The arrival of the railway Tampere - Haapamäki (Keuruu) will involve a modest industrial development, with a tannery founded by Edward Wallenius in 1894 followed first factory of Chaussure S of Finland in 1897. The commune is founded a few years later, in 1913.

Today, the common preserve an industrial calling, mainly around the die Wood. One finds there in particular an important sawmill of the group UPM. The Unemployment rate is raised and the population is in constant reduction.

The close municipalities are Orivesi in the south, Ruovesi in the North-West, Vilppula in north and Jämsä in the east (Finland-Power station).
