the Chocolate ( Chocolate ) is a film britannico-American of Lasse Hallström left in 2000.

Synopsis

Lansquenet is a small village in the middle of France where the life runs out, peaceful and immutable since centuries. The arrival of a mysterious young woman, Vianne Rock, and from his/her Anouk daughter all will upset… In its confectionery, Vianne proposes irresistible delicacies. It seems to have the gift to guess the hidden desires of its customers and to satisfy them with receipts of which it has the secrecy. Much is given up with its charm and succumbs to its delights sweetened… The fabulous chocolates of Vianne are not satisfied to enchant the papillae, they look after the lost hopes and awake unexpected feelings in the hearts… All this is not taste of the aristocratic count de Reynaud, convinced that the marvellous chocolates of Vianne threaten the order and morality and will sow the revolution downtown.

Through the dissensions which are born between Vianne and the count, the village is divided soon between those who want to preserve their ancestral lifestyle and those which are thirsty for pleasure and freedom…
