- 1907 ( Cycling on road ): departure of the Tour de France 1907.
- 1912 ( Olympic Games ): first Olympic gold medal for the Finland. Before this date, Finland depended on Russia tsarist. The athlete Hannes Kolehmainen removes this first Finnish Olympic title on 10.000 meters.

- 1954 ( Cycling on road ): departure of the Tour de France 1954.

It thus gains its 11th success in Grand Slam and equalizes the performance of the Swedish Bjorn Borg, which gained the tournament five times consecutively of 1976 with 1980.
