Julius Vincenz von Krombholz
Julius Vincenz von Krombholz is a Médecin and a German mycologist , born in 1782 and died in 1843.
He studies the Médecine at the university of Prague in 1803 and obtains his title of doctor in 1814. He teaches in Prague hygiene and is interested in toxicity of mushrooms by carrying out many experiments on the animals. He gives the result of his observations in his famous book Naturgetreue Abbildungen und Beschreibungen DER essbaren, schädlichen und verdächtigen Schwämme (J.G. Calve' schen Buchhandlung, Prague, two volumes, 1831-1846). The end of the work is published posthumously by Johann Baptista Zobel (1812-1865). Krombholz allows August Karl Joseph Corda (1809-1849), without financial resources, to find a station at the university.
