Julio the Park

Julio the Park (born in 1928 with Mendoza in Argentinian) is a sculptor and Argentinian painter .

Biography

The Park studied with the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (the national school of beautiful arts) with Buenos Aires. In 1958 it obtained a concession of research and was established in Paris, where it studied under Vassarely and other artists. It ceased producing art on traditional mediums and turned to the light of investigation, the movement and the color, producing the objects Cinétique S.

In the years 1960 it founded Visual Art (group of Group of Research for research on visual art) (GRAV) (With François Morellet, Francisco Sobrino, Joel Stein, Yvaral), creating collective work which called into question of the matters such as the occupation of author and the creativity. 1963 the group different organized under the title of " The Lnstabilité ". The Park later created its first environments with the objects which could be operations and of the effects of the light, and which invited the sensory participation of the spectator.

In 1966 it had its first exposure deprived to the Sage gallery of Howard with New York. The same year it gained the first price with Venice bi-annual. In May 1968, its active participation with the workshops of the " personnes" led to its expulsion of France, a measurement which lasted five months and finished with its return towards Paris because of the protests spread by artists and intellectuals. The first retrospective one of its work was held in 1972 with Dusseldorf, Germany. Six years after, in 1978, BBC with London produced documentary on its life and its work. In 1987 it gained the first price with bi-annual Cuenca (the Ecuador). Its work is in collections in the museums and of the galleries in the countries in the whole world.
