Julio Ribera

Julio Ribera (born with Barcelona on March 20th 1927) is a draftsman and Spanish scenario writer .

Biography

Impassioned very early by graphics, it signs its first works under various pseudonymes' (Jules Mc Side, Bop…). From 1945 to 1954, he imagines the series " Rosy" , " Pips there Sulfato" , and " Platillos Volantes" (Flying saucers)

September 1954: he emigrates in France, and publishes " Pistol Jim" in " Zorro". From 1955, it illustrates many serials in the daily press, (the Parisian one Released, Dawn…).

1956: The Stopping (Scenario of Alexandre Petit Duke) and the series Tony Sextant (J. Acquaviva); this band of anticipation comprises 4 episodes which will appear in Bayard (see on this subject Bill Jourdan) between 1956 and 1961: " Tony Sextant knight of the espace" , " Appointment with Tycho" , " Syrtis Major does not answer plus" and " Deïmos the satellite of acier". This series wants to be very realistic so much on the level of the scenario which is inspired directly by the scientific knowledge of the time (even if the belief in the existence of the channels Martians started to grow blurred…) that on the graphic plan. Ribera is obviously very at ease in the field of the SF what it will confirm a few years later with the series " the Vagrant of the limbs "

From 1962 to 1965 it carries out two stories to be followed. And several complete account it also appears in the synopsis of several magazines ( Vaillant …)

In 1965 he collaborates in Pilote , where in 1973, he creates the character of Dracurella.

Two years later, joining Christian Godard, it gives rise to the Vagabond limbs .

In 1985: it draws the Chroniques time of the Valley of Ghlomes , (ED Dargaud).

In 1988 always with Godard it founds the Editions VESSEL of MONEY, and draws “the Great Lack”, taken again at. Sun Production in 1993.

After the stop of the Money Vessel 1991, it continues the “Vagrant of the Limbs” at Dargaud, and undertakes for this same editor, " Large Scandale" (1994), and " I am a monstre" , (Glenat editions, Grafica collection).
