Julien de Grenier

Julien de Grenier , died in 1275, was count de Sidon of 1239 with 1260. It was wire of Balian de Grenier, count de Sidon, and of Marguerite de Brienne.

He married in 1252 Euphémie, girl of Héthoum Ier, king d' Arménie. They had:

  • Balian II of Attic, killed in 1277 close to Botron
  • Jean, died in 1289 in Arménie
  • Marguerite, married to Guy II Embriaco († 1282), lord of Gibelet

In 1260, it attacked the Mongols who had just taken Damas, but those were avenged by devastating the county for Sidon. It then sold its county with the Ordre of the Temple. In 1263, it separated from Euphémie. From 1256 to 1261, it had had a connection with Plaisante of Antioche, widow of Henri Ier, king de Chypre, and incurred the lightnings of the pope, who summoned it to marry.

Ruined by the play, having resold Sidon, he became templier himself before the Order does not return it its rows for an unknown reason. One does not know what it occurred of him thereafter.
