Julien Mory Sidibé

Julien Mory Sidibé was a bishop Mali, born in 1927 in Goualala, deceased the March 17th 2003.

Biography

Born in 1927 in a Moslem family, Mory Sidibé will study at the school of the white Pères of Goualala then to the great seminar of Goumi (the Upper Volta, current Burkina Faso). In 1957, it is ordered priest with Bougouni. It directs during five years the School of the catechists of Faladie, then that of Ntonimba.

In 1971, it prepares in France its thesis of doctorate in theology.

December 7th 1974, it is named bishop of Ségou. For this reason it takes part in 1991 in the National conference of Mali which opens the ways of the democratization of the country.

He knew the archbishop Monseigneur Luc Sangaré.
