Julien Clerc , of her true name Paul-Alain Leclerc, is a singer French, born on October 4th, 1947 with Paris in the 19th district.
Wire of a father senior official with UNESCO and of a mother of origin inhabitant of Guadeloupe, he is the interpreter many songs of Etienne Roda-Gil. He is the half-brother of Gerard Leclerc, journalist political with France 2. His/her parents divorce when it is still young.

In 1978, Julien Clerc and Miou-Miou have a little girl, Jeanne. This same year, he celebrates also his 30 years and his/her friend Maxime the Forester writes to him on this occasion one his more beautiful songs, " I had 30 ans". This title will appear with the autumn 1978 on the album " Jaloux" , its first large success as regards sales (400 000 specimens) thanks to the title of Jean-Loup Dabadie “My preference”.
In 1979, Julien Clerc takes part in the musical tale of Philippe Chatel Emilie Jolie , work intended for the children. The album will be sold to a million specimens. This year, Julien Clerc buys a farm in the Yonne and decides to install a breeding of sheep there. It can practice also there horsemanship, one of its great passions.
In 1980, Julien Clerc separates from Etienne Roda-Gil as well as her arranger Jean-Claude Petit.
In 1982 thus its 12th album leaves of which " Women I you aime". It leaves its recording company Pathé Marconi to integrate the English firm Virgin which at the time is yet only one small label.
In 1984, Julien Clerc marries Virginia Couperie. It is this year the master of ceremony of the first evening of the Victoires of the Music, rewards of the French song. In 1985 is born his/her Vanille daughter, followed by a Barnabe son in 1989.
The album " Utile" in December 1992 is an event in the career of Julien Clerc since it marks its meeting again with Etienne Roda-Gil after ten years of professional separation.
In 1997, he celebrates his 50 years on scene with Marc Lavoine, Alain Souchon, Francoise Hardy, Maurane and Pascal Obispo. He of it will be drawn a disc entitled " October 4th " , which corresponds to the date of its birthday.
In 2002, following a report in Africa, it yields the rights of its title " Partir" with the profit of UNO of which it is named ambassador of good will in 2003.
Its album, Double childhood leaves at the end of 2005 and meets success during one time when the market of the disc crumbles. It comprises inter alia two songs of Etienne Roda-Gil, missing a few months earlier.
