Julie d\' Angennes

Julie Luciana d' Angennes , known as the incomparable Julie , born with Paris in 1607 and dead the November 15th 1671, was the girl of the marquis de Rambouillet and Catherine de Vivonne.

Julie d' Angennes grows in a medium where his/her parents receive all the great names of the time to the Hôtel of Rambouillet. Celebrate at the same time by its beauty like by the penetration and the delicacy of its spirit, it formed, for the inhabitants of the Hotel, under the name of princess Julée , during marchioness his/her mother, the Sage Arihémise , and it is indicated in Large Cyrus with that of Cléomire .

Its beauty, its merit, and the protection which it granted to the men of letters gave him a large celebrity, and was one of the principal ornaments of the famous hotel of Rambouillet. It had the heart strong and generous and announced itself in its family by acts of devotion. She had the taste of the theater and played even the tragedy in her Hotel, but she belonged especially to the letters, with share the Guirlande for which she is known today, by the abundance of worms and prose that she inspired.

In 1641, it receives on behalf of her engaged couple, the duke of Montausier the Guirlande of Julie , a collection of 62 madrigaux composed by the great names of poetry: Crow, Desmarets, Malleville and realized by the Calligrapher Nicolas Jarry. Each madrigal had as a subject a flower, illustrating a quality of Julie. This one was magnificiently painted by Robert in glance. The work was connected in a splendid way, by Gascon, bookbinder famous, and decorated outwards and in inside of the figure interlaced of J.L. (Julie-Lucine). The duke of Montausier made some make two similar specimens, and each one was locked up in a bag of skin of Spain. With her alarm clock, Julie found this present on her toilet, the first New Year's Day 1633 or 1634.

Julie d' Angennes ends up marrying the her sighing July 13rd 1645. In 1661, it became controlling children of France and lady-in-waiting of the queen. The memories of time reproach him its kindnesses for the mistresses of Louis XIV.

Madeleine de Scudéry painted it in its novels under the name of Arthénice. This portrait had as well celebrity as Fléchier preserved to him this name in the funeral oration devoted to its memory.
