Julie Walters , born the February 22nd 1950 in the town of Smethwick, is a British actress .

Biography

Julie Walters was born in the town of Smethwick, in the the Midlands of the West, in England, of an Irish mother and Catholique. Later, she studied the English and the Dramatic art with Manchester. She began in particular in scenes from theater like Education from Rita. Its first serious role on television was in Boys from the Blackstuff in 1980.

She becomes, initially, mainly known to be the occasional partner of the actress Victoria Wood, whom she recontré with Manchester. Their series, Wood and Walters, appear on television in 1982; they continued to play the following years together.

The December 2nd 1999, it is named officer of the Ordre of the British Empire and in 2001, it gained a Laurence Olivier Awards thanks to his performance in All My Sons of Arthur Miller. Julie Walters plays also Molly Weasley in the films Harry Potter.
