Julie Turconi

Julie Turconi is at the same time Conte uses and auteure. Frenchwoman, established with Montreal (Quebec) for several years but voyageuse in the heart, it has offered to the public her wandering, sensual and poetic stories with sensitivity and simplicity.

Biography

Originating in France and impassioned voyages, Julie Turconi travelled much before fixing herself one day at Montreal. After having exerted there various employment, of which that of tourist guide, it decides to reconcile its passion of the languages and the words with its work: she thus exerts today the trade of translator.

Auteure, it privileges the texts full with emotions and poetry, then decides to be tested with other styles: its experiments lead it black to the accounts of voyage, while passing by the erotic… Its news is worth to him many publications in reviews and collections, like some literary prizes (see Ci-low), which encourages it to continue!

Narrator, but also diffuseure of tale, it belongs to the Cormorant Productions. This non-profit making organization dedicated to the promotion of the tale and the literature is composed today of the two votes original and different of FX Liagre and Julie Turconi (the other founding members since having decided to devote itself to their personal career: Eric Gauthier, Yves Robitaille and Mike Burns). The Cormorant Productions organize in Montreal of the evenings and the spectacles putting in the high-speed motorboat the art of the “racontage” since 2004. Its members were given for " mission" to promote and make known the tale, and to bring it where there is not (still); to leave the tale the cultural downtown areas, to make him take its take-off. Words of today, words of yesterday, words of always, carried by the breath, the voice…

Only or in duet with FX Liagre, Julie Turconi also occurs on many Québécois scenes. She explores there a sensitive and sometimes cruel world, but always deeply female. Its repertory is varied: tales of environment, accounts of life, tales sensual, oneiric tales, tale of fantasies…
