Julian Schwinger
Julian Seymour Schwinger (February 12th 1918 - July 16th 1994) was a American Physicien . He formulated the theory of the Renormalization and stated a phenomenon of pair of electron-positron known under the name of Effet Schwinger. It receipt the Nobel Prize of physics in 1965 for under work on the quantum electrodynamic ( QED ), jointly with Richard Feynman and Sin-Itiro Tomonaga.
Schwinger was born with New York, he wrote his first scientific publication with old of 16ans, and obtained are doctorate with the Université of Columbia, where he had as professor I.I. Rabi, in 1939. He worked with the university of Berkeley and was then named with the Université Purdue.
During the Second world war, He worked at the laboratory of the radiations of the Massachusetts Institute off Technology, providing a theoretical support for the development of the radars. He tried to apply his knowledge in nuclear physics to the electromagnetic problems, and arrived at results. Consequently, Schwinger started to use its comprehension of radiations in quantum physics.
After the war, Schwinger left Purdue for the university of Harvard, where he taught 1945 with 1974. During this time, it developed the concept of renormalization, which explains the Décalage of Lamb in the magnetic fields of an electron. It also realized in its study of the physics of the particles, that the Neutrino S should appear in multiple varieties, associated with the Lepton S, like the electron S and the Muon S.
In the continuation of its career, dissatisfied with the Physical complexity of the explanations of the experiments in of the particles, Schwinger developed the Théorie of the sources, treating revolve, photons and another particles in a uniform way.
Schwinger left Harvard in 1974 for the the University of California, with Los Angeles, where it continued its work on the theory of the sources.
