Jules Ladoumègue
Jules Ladoumègue (known as Julot ) is a French middle-distance runner, born the December 10th 1906 with the Country house close to Bordeaux, deceased the March 2nd 1973 with Paris, from 1 m 74 per 58 kg.
Il is born in the tragedy: a few days before, his/her father Docker is crushed by blocks out of wooden on the quays of Bordeaux while wanting to save comrades; two weeks after her arrival on ground, his/her mother dies burned alive by saving it of the flames of their residence! At 12 years he works hard like garden apprentice. Its successive clubs will be the athletic Union of Bordeaux of 1921 with 1924, the Stage of Bordeaux university club (SBUC) of 1924 with 1927, the French Stage in 1928 and the Athletic Club of the General society of 1928 with 1931. It will be selected in team of France of 1926 with 1931, passing its military service with Joinville in 1927, and marrying in spring 1931. It is erased with life by the federation on March 4th 1932, with 26 years and holder of all the world records between one and two kilometers, for violation of the rules of amateurism strictly into force at the time (what will not prevent it from descending the Fields-Elysées triumphantly on November 10th 1935, in front of 400000 Parisian come to pay homage to him).
It passed professional in 1933, being exhibant vis-a-vis horses, or abroad (the USSR), but the spring was definitively broken. It is requalified 12 years after its degradation (in full war!), having been able to attend the Olympic Games of summer of 1932 only as a simple spectator at the sides of Paavo Nurmi, also erased to him for same the motif.
Its tread untied was of 2 m 25.
It animated sporting emissions with the national radio in the years 50.
To honor this great champion with the national sport and international, its name was given to many sports complexes, among which the stage Jules Ladoumègue (Door of Puppet in Paris).
In 1955, it publishes its autobiography In my tread .
