Jules Lachelier (May 27th 1832 with Fontainebleau - 1918 with Paris) is a Philosophe French.

Raise National university, aggregate of letters in 1855, then of philosophy in 1863, it is named doctor in letters in 1871 with a thesis on the problem of induction: “The experiment best made is only used to learn to us to the Juste how the phenomena bind under our eyes: but, that it must bind always and everywhere same manner, it is what she does not teach us, and it is however what we do not hesitate to affirm. ”

Lachelier will try to show in which measurements we are capable of such an assertion.

He taught philosophy with the National university of 1864 to 1875, where he had as raises Jules Lagneau. Professor considered for his rigor and his great discretion, Lachelier left only the publication of some personal letters carefully chosen by his care. Being defined as intellectualist, it had been given for mission of perpetuating the philosophy of Kant. An article of him remained celebrates, Psychologie and Métaphysique , where, being distinguished from Victor Cousin, it gives the stakes of its philosophy to spiritualistic tendency: “The being such as we conceive it is not, initially a blind need, then a will, which would be connected in advance by the need, finally a freedom, which would not have any more but to note the existence of one or other. He is entire freedom, as he occurs itself, entire will, as he occurs like something of concrete and reality. ” (p. 170)
