Jules Jeanneney
Jules Jeanneney is a French politician, born the July 6th 1864 with Besancon, deceased the April 27th 1957 in Paris. Lawyer, it is interested in the private international law.
Mayor of Rioz (Haute-Saône) as from 1896, it is appointed of this department of 1902 to 1909, then senator (democratic Gauche) until 1940. He also chaired the General advice of the Haute-Saône of 1905 1925. Under-secretary of State to the War in the government Clemenceau (January 1917 - November 1920), vice-president of the Senate of 1924 to 1928, he is president of the committee of supply of 1928 to 1932.
He is elected president of the Sénat in 1932 and he chairs, the July 10th 1940, the meeting of the Congress in Vichy which votes the full powerss with Pétain. He endeavors to convince the president Albert Lebrun to continue the fight in North Africa. With Edouard Herriot, president of the Room, he protests in August 1942 against the use that the Marshal in fait.

He is minister of state in charge of the reorganization of the public authorities in the government of the Général de Gaulle of the September 9th 1944 with the October 21st 1945.
Jules Jeanneney is the father of the minister Jean-Marcel Jeanneney and the grandfather of the Secretary of State Jean-Christmas Jeanneney.
