While resting on geological observations , the work proposes a daydream on the existence of a primitive Continent called Lémurie. Cradle of all civilizations, it is absorbed after a cosmic catastrophe. Madagascar and the Mascareignes would be the last vestiges. Jules Hermann takes part thus in his manner with the assumption of a continental drift.
