Juillac-the-Cock is a common French, located in the department of the Charente and the area Poitou-Charentes.

Geography

The name of Juillac undoubtedly comes from the anthroponyme Roman Julius, follow-up of the attributive suffix acum : Juliacum, is Domaine of Julius, Villa of Julius. Juillac is located with the site of an antique Gallo-Roman villa.

History

The presence of a circular ditch protohistoriqueau Saint-Pierre locality and of a Neolithic camp close to the hamlet of Matignons site seniority of the occupation of the place.
