Juhan Shares

Juhan Parts (born the August 27th 1966 with Tallinn) was the 37e Prime Minister of the Estonia, the April 10th 2003 at Thursday March 24th 2005 (it was replaced by Andrus Ansip) and is Minister for the Economic affairs and Transport of the 2nd government of Ansip since April 2007.

Juhan Parts is the president of the party Res Publica ( Ühendus Vabariigi Eest - Res Publica ).

After having carried out its secondary studies at the secondary school of Tallinn n° 1 (become Gustav-Adolf School since), it made studies of right (private) to the Université of Tartu (1991), then worked of 1992 with 1998 with the ministry for Justice. Before launching out in the policy, it was named “controller of State” by Lennart Meri (equivalent of the president of the Court of Auditors in France) of 1998 with 2002. It presented its resignation the August 8th 2002 in order to be able to adhere to the Res Publica party, recently created. A few days later, the August 24th, it was elected president of the party, all the other continuing candidates having withdrawn their candidature.

At the time of the legislative elections of 2003, Res Publica carried out the second best score behind the Party of the Center and formed a government coalition with the Party of the Reform and the Popular union of Estonia. The coalition has 60 seats at the Parliament. Within the government, 4 ministers are of Res Publica, in addition to the Prime Minister, 5 with the Party of the reform and 4 with the Popular union. This coalition seems to have burst the March 21st 2005 in Riigikogu. March 21st, 2005, of distrust had been voted against the Minister for Justice, Ken-Marti Vaher, in front of Riigikogu. Vaher had established a system of quotas to determine how much civils servant were to be continued each year (by department), which was felt per many Estonians like a purging of the type Stalin IEN. Shares supported this measurement and bound its fate to that of Vaher which is influential within Res Publica.

Juhan Parts was probably the only Prime Minister in the world to be played in a football club (the FC Toompea of Tallinn).
