Judenrat
The Judenrats (Jewish council in German), were administrative bodies formed in the Jewish ghettos, under the order of the authorities Nazis. They related to the ghettos of Poland then those of the Soviet countries.
They formed the government of the ghettos, and formed the link between the Nazis and the population. They were generally composed of the leaders of the Jewish communities. They were forced by the Nazis to provide Jews which were to be used as slave, and to help with the deportation of the populations towards the death camps.
In certain ghettos, Judenrat coopérait with the resistance movements Jewish, but Judenrats were blamed as an example of what was the collaboration of Jews, in particular by Hannah Arendt in Eichmann in Jerusalem, report/ratio on the banality of the evil .
