Juanjo Guarnido

Juanjo Guarnido is a Dessinateur of cartoons Spanish born with Grenade (Spain) in 1967. After a childhood passed to draw, it makes its studies with the Art schools with Grenade and obtains its diploma there. It takes part in the design of several fanzines and publishes illustrations at Comics Forum - Planeta de Agostini for the Spanish edition of Marvel Comics.

It settles then with Madrid where it works with the studios of animation Lapiz Azul . It is in this studio that it meets Juan Diaz Canales, that which will become its scenario writer for Blacksad .

Juanjo Guarnido is engaged into 1993 with the Studios Walt Disney of Montreuil (beside Paris). It works there like layout-man (draftsman of the decorations) then like organizer. It is at its free hours that he undertakes the manufacture of its first album, Blacksad: Some share enters the shades .
