Juan de Zumárraga

Juan de Zumárraga (1468 - June 3rd 1548) was a Spanish prelate, Franciscain and first Archevêque of Mexico City.

Zumárraga was born in Spain, with Durango (Biscay). It enters the order of the Franciscain S. In 1527 whereas it is higher Couvent of Abrojo, it receives there the Emperor Charles Quint. Shortly after it is named judge in the examination of the case of the witches of the Basque Country. It comes out from its writings that it looked at the witches like women rather suffering from hallucinations than had by the demon.
