Juan de Herrera
Juan de Herrera (born in 1530 with Mobellán close to Santander - 1593, Madrid) is a Spanish Architecte of the Rebirth.
Juan de Herrera studies with the Université of Valladolid in 1548.
One owes him the Escurial where it creates an architectural style which influenced Spanish architecture for the century to come and which one calls “ herreriano ” or “school herreriana”. The Cathedral of Valladolid and the Archivo General of Indias are built on its plans. He is also the creator of the initial plans of the Plaza Mayor of Madrid.
He is also one of the founders of the Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas there Naturales.
