Juan Tafures
Juan Tafures or Tafurer, Catalan adventurer. Died after 1477. Owner of a trading vessel, it slackens with the Saltworks of Cyprus (Larnaca) in July 1457 when it helps Jacques de Lusignan, wire batârd of king de Chypre, which has just made assassinate the chamberlain of the kingdom, to flee in Rhodos. He becomes one of his partisans and takes part in the conquest of the kingdom on the queen legitimates in September 1460.
Close friend of the new sovereign it occupies the load of " Master of the hotel of Roi" then of Captain of Famagouste. Jacques II confers the title of count to him de Tripoli between 1469 and 1473. It is in this quality that it is named executor of the king in 1473.
Under the reign of Catherine Cornaro he is opposed violently to the Venetian interests. He manages to escape to them but its family is removed and off-set in Venice in 1477. After this date it disappears from the sources.
