Juan Pando Despierto , born with Madrid in 1943 is a Spanish Historien .

Studies and career

Juan Pando was born within a family cash from the soldiers. It is the son of a photographer, Juan Pando Barrero; it will thus receive triple formation, not only historical and military but still that of a professional photograph. Its thesis El mundo militar has notched joints of the fotografía: España there el hecho internacional 1861-1921: Valores estéticos, sociológicos there políticos , enables him to obtain the doctorat.
Juan Pando is the author, also, dune works important in the field of the photography, which, with that of his/her father, is the heart of the Pando Files, preserved today at the Institute of the Spanish Historical heritage.

Work

The work of Juan Pando turns around two main axes:
  • contemporary military history, and in particular wars of Spain in North Africa.
  • the image, and especially photography like transmission resource of esthetic, sociological and political values.
It also covered collateral subjects like the presence of Spanish-Americans and of Filipinos in the African wars and, especially, it made a monumental study on the humane policy of Alphonse XIII during the I World war which it will publish with the title a rey para the esperanza .
Francophile and lusophile notorious, Pando defends the bringing together of Spain with France and Portugal.
In addition to its books, Pando produced many articles in the most important Spanish reviews.
