Juan Ignacio Molina
The father Juan Ignacio or Giovanni Ignazio Molina or Abate Molina (June 24th 1740, Guaraculén, commune of Alegre Villa, Province of Linares, Maule, Chile - Bologna, Italy, September 12th 1829) is a priest Jésuite and a Chilean Naturaliste .
He follows his schooling to Talca and the college Jesuit of Concepción. It is forced to leave Chile in 1768 when the Jesuits are expelled of the country. It settles with Bologna and becomes professor of Natural history. He writes Saggio sulla Storia Naturale del Chile in 1782 (translated into French in 1789), which is the first study of natural history on Chile.
