Synopsis

A marionnettist discovers a gate carrying out directly in the skin of the actor John Malkovich.

This film presents before all the various ways of approaching the same situation, through 4 characters:

Craig, first to discover the passage, first of all raises some existential questions (which will remain besides outstanding, one can think that they are useful especially has to calm the desire for including/understanding of the spectator so that it can be focused above all on the history and for not remaining " bloqué" on this point), then will use John like a puppet, abrasive inter alia its notoriety to achieve the projects which it cannot carry out as Craig Schwartz, which consists in being made known as a marionnettist and with living with Maxine.

Maxine Lund, second character to learn the existence from the passage towards John Malkovich, there sees a financial interest immediately, and founds a company with Craig. For it, this passage is before all something from which it is necessary to profit, as all the remainder, without being interested in it besides (it will not test the passage, but single once will borrow it to flee). It also uses in an indirect way this passage while profiting owing to the fact that two people can be in only one body. She will explain itself how much she likes that " two people passionately look at it through an only pair of yeux".

Burbot, the woman of Craig, as for it, is attracted by " the expérience" : through John, she discovers new things: to be a man, first of all, but also to be dredged by a woman. She will use also the passage to sleep with Maxine, with which she will fall in love. During film, its will " of expérimenter" will calm itself to leave room to its love for Maxine.

Lastly, the Mertin captain, in the " vessel corporel" Dr. Lester, discoverer original of the passage, sees a means there of prolonging his existence indefinitely, while travelling of " vaisseau" in " vaisseau". To deal with its next " vaisseau" before entering there becomes even one of its main concerns.
