Belmonte was the first to await motionless the load of the bull, then to try to connect the master keys. This manner of toréer seemed so revolutionist, and especially so impossible to practice, that Guerrita, one of the largest matadors of the end of the 19th century says about it: “If you want to see it, dépéchez you before a bull kills it! ”The career of Belmonte extends from the beginning of the year 1910 until 1936, year when it took a final retirement. But actually, the most glorious part of its career dates from the time of its competition with his/her friend Jose Gómez Ortega “Joselito”, of 1914 with died of this one in 1920.
