History
The commune of St Goazec is known for its coal sabot-makers/who lived during the last centuries (19/18ième century) in the surrounding forests and wood
The name of this commune comes from Woazec saint or Gwazec, disciple of Patrice saint and bishop to Ireland.
Saint-Goazec is a dismemberment of the primitive parish of Laz. Saint-Goazec is, with the Middle Ages, a trève of the parish of Laz and depends on old évêché on Cornwall. Saint-Goazec is detached from Laz under the legal settlement and becomes a parish with whole share.
The stronghold of Trévarez belongs in 1601 to Jean de Linloët. This ground is seized on this family by Anne de Coatanezre, marchioness of the Rock-Helgomarc' H, on October 19th, 1623. It passes then, by alliance, between the hands of the family of Kernezne which lives Trévarez in 1660 and 1759. This ground, like that of Trégoazec, is acquired shortly after by the family Montjarret de Kerjégu.

agriculture remains an activity essential with St Goazec. Industry: The communal spring waters of “the Queen” are bottled and marketed by the company SOWED under the mark “Isabelle”.
Very close is a bovine regional experimental station with Trévarez, and a porcine regional experimental station with Guernévez, installed on the territory of the neighbouring communes by the room of agriculture.
