Jovan Jovanović Zmaj
Jovan Jovanović Zmaj , in Serbe Cyrillique ЈованЈовановићЗмај (born the November 24th 1833, Novi Sad - died the June 3rd 1904, Sremska Kamenica) was a Poète Lyrique of the Serb Romantisme .
Jovan Jovanović was doctor.
During second half of the 19th century, he was the Serb poet most prolific. He wrote for a great number of reviews and newspapers and he was, in particular, editor association of the magazine Satirique May 3rd (which gave him its nickname). He was also director as a chief of the magazine for children Souci .
Its two better works of poetry are Ђулићи/Đulići (pinks) and Ђулићиувеоци/Đulići uveoci (soiled pinks). A great number of its humorous poetries, intended for the children, were plubiées in various reviews and, later, were joined together in collections.
Jovan Jovanović Zmaj was also translator. It translated into Serb poets like Sándor Petőfi, Goethe, Heine, Lermontov and Tennyson.
