Journey to the Center off the Earth
Journey to the Center off the Earth is an attraction of the park Tokyo DisneySea based on the history: Voyage in the center of the Earth of Jules Verne. It is an attraction of the Russian mountain type on board vehicle " souterrain" who takes along the visitors in the depths of the Earth.
This attraction is a Russian mountain but before a a whole visit in a sumptuous decoration and finely detailed, with sequences with feeling.
Tokyo DisneySea
It is built within the Mont Prometheus , the central volcano of the park in Mysterious Island. The vehicles are designed on the same principle as those of Rocket Rods, but nearer of an hybrid between an engine and a drilling machine. Attraction opened with the park on September 4th, 2001. Rockets Rods is an attraction of Disneyland open in 1998 and closed in 2001.
The visit starts as of the beginning with the queue in will caldeira of Mount Prometheus, the secret base of the Capitaine Nemo. After having penetrated in an important cave of the volcano where it is possible to see the opening of a drilling machine as well as the machine in the ceiling, the visitor passes the doors of the base. With the walls of the diagrams, sketches and tables make discover the base and its uses. One of the inventions returns several times it is the vehicle semi-train, semi-drilling machine used in attraction. Then the visitors are vis-a-vis the Terravator , an elevator for the entrails of the Earth whose plan is posted with the top of the doors. During the " descente" heat increases and on arrival at the lower level, a cave " creusée" in unknown rocks allows to embark in the vehicle.
On board this " souterrain" the visitors cross a forest of phosphorescent crystals where each gem and diamond are of an impressive size, (thus an unimaginable price) and which shelters a life hitherto unknown. Then the visit continues in the cellar of the Fungi (mushrooms) but here they seems alive and moves. Suddenly a crowd of creature appears even stranger than alive mushrooms. The rails then seem to have disappeared from lower part the vehicle which is agitated and shaken its passengers. An underground storm caused by the volcano moves towards the " souterrain" but little avoids it while a howling is made hear. A creature resembling the Tyrannosaure, but made lava and stone approaches and its cry develops as the train advances. After having taken a service road the vehicle is found in the cave of the monster. At the last time the vehicle undergoes a strong acceleration and is expelled in an explosion apart from the volcano with more than 75 km/h. But the fall is likely to be difficult, it is done along a slope external of the volcano. Then the vehicle returns at the base by borrowing a cave.
Others
This attraction had partly been conceived as one of possible attractions of the project Discovery Mountain of Disneyland Paris but the concept was not developed for reasons of budgetary restrictions. It is OLC which made develop and build attraction.
