Journalizing

The journalizing (in English logging ) is the action to raise in a newspaper (in English log ) all the events which occur in a Computing system during its operation.

Journalizing makes it possible to carry out various analyzes, generally Statistique S; to make Assumption S on the dysfunctions or the losses of performance of a system.

The access to the newspapers can contravene certain requirements of Confidentialité, even of safety.

Journalizing also makes it possible to record the events in two different places.

Applicative journalizing

Applicative journalizing indicates the chronological recording of the operations of logic trade during the operation of the application. A applicatif newspaper is itself a requirement of the trade. It is thus defined like a functionality belonging to applicative logic. Consequently, it should not be stopped during the operation of the application.

Journalizing system

Journalizing system indicates the chronological recording of the events occurring on the level of the components of the system. The level of this journalizing can be parameterized, in order to filter the various events according to their category of gravity. The categories generally used are: information, debugging, warning, error.
