Journalist under the Revolution

The press knows a rank effeverscence under the Revolution. 250 titles of press are created between the May 5th 1789 and the end 1789. In 1790, 350 new titles are born.

Some famous journalists:

  • Honore Gabriel Riqueti, count de Mirabeau, writer of the Mail of Provence, (poisoned (?) or of natural death)

  • Claude Fauchet, writer of the Mouth of iron, (guillotine)

  • Camille Desmoulins, writer of the Revolutions of France and the Brabant, the Old man Cordelier, (guillotine)

  • Condorcet, writer of the Chronicle of the month, (death poisoned or commits suicide)

  • Jacques Rene Hébert, writer of the Father Duchesne. (guillotine)
