Journalist-writers for nature and ecology

The association of the Journalist-writers for nature and ecology (or JNE ) (created in 1969) is an association pionnière of the political ecology in France. It contributed to sensitize the French public opinion with the environmental questions and is the principal initiator of the candidature of Rene Dumont, first candidate ecologist with a presidential election, the French presidential election of 1974.

History

The association of the Journalist-writers for nature and ecology (JNE) was created by a handle of Journaliste S attached to " to organize and améliorer" information concerning the environment in France. Association supported the creation of Environnement headings in the press and the Médias, being used as " relais" with the first movements ecologist s.
In 1974, only occasion for which association " interfered itself politique" , according to its clean dires, the association of the JNE " took part in an active way in the invention of the first ecologist candidature for an election by supporting and organizing the electoral campaign with presidential Rene Dumont ".
Thereafter, association abstained from entering the political game. To mark its neutrality, the association of the JNE separated in years 1990 from natural France environment.

In 2006, association counts 290 members, specialized journalists of questions of environment in the whole of the press and the French media.

The association of the Journalist-writers for nature and ecology is member of the International federation of the journalists of the environment, created with Dresden (Germany) in 1993, and whose seat is with Paris.
