Josu Jon Imaz

Josu Jon Imaz San Miguel is a Basque politician Spanish born with Zumárraga (Gipuzkoa, Spain) on September 6th 1963. Married and father of three children, it resides at Donosti (Gipuzkoa).

Doctor of chemical sciences by the University of the Pays Basque - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea. Bachelor with the Faculty of chemical sciences of Donostia. Extraordinary price of End of Studies. Specialized in Polymers. Training in Head office of Companies 1989-90, within the framework of the Training program of the Head office of Co-operative Ikasbide-Group Mondragón. Complete its doctoral thesis at the University of Engineers Industriels of Bilbao (1994).

In December 1986 it is sent by Technological Center INASMET to French Center CETIM of Nantes, with a purse of the Ministry for Industry and Energy in its training program of researchers abroad.

Person in charge of the Surface of Composites and Polymers of INASMET during the time 1987-89. Incorporate yourself in the Co-operative Group Mondragón during time 89-91 like industrial promoter. Person in charge of the Department of Marketing and Foreign relations of INASMET over the period 91-94.

In June 1994 he is elected eurodéputé with the elections in the European Parliament, charges that he exerts until his nomination on January 7th, 1999 as an adviser of Industry, the Trade and Tourism of the Government Basque and spokesperson of proper Gouvernement Basque.

Starting from the Government council celebrated dated July 17th, 2001, it is again titular wallet of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Government Basque and its spokesperson, loads which it exerts until January 13rd, 2004.

Finally, at the time of the General meeting of Euzko Alderdi Jeltzalea-Party Nationalist Basque, celebrated January 17th and 18th 2004, it is elected president of Euzkadi Buru Batzar (national office).
