Joseph Wauters is a Belgian politician born with Rosoux-Crenwick the November 8th 1875 and deceased the June 30th 1929.

Joseph Wauters was doctor of physicochemical sciences and directed work of laboratory of the Université of Liege where it obtained his diplomas.

Later, it is interested in the social domain and the living condition of the workers. In 1895, it founds the first company of Mutual Secours .

At the end of the war, it belongs to the new Government as a Supply and Work, Minister of Industry. It is at this station that it made vote the 8 hours law for which it accepted the congratulations of the king Albert 1 {{er}}.

A monument is set up with Waremme in its memory. Moreover, many streets bear its name, like the street Joseph Wauters with Verviers, Dampremy. It is also the name of one of the two main streets of the center town of Waremme.
