Joseph Souberbielle

Joseph Souberbielle is a French doctor, born the March 18th 1754 with Pontacq (Yrénées-Atlantiques) and deceased the July 11th 1846 with Paris. He was sworn with the revolutionary Tribunal during the Terreur.

Surgeon in Paris, Souberbielle was one of the most dedicated detractors of the method invented by the brother As in 1779 for the operation of the stone; he consequently showed strong opposite with the lithotritie invented by Doctor Civiale. Very related to Robespierre, he, in 1793, was sworn with the revolutionary Tribunal, which condemned, among many others, the queen Marie-Antoinette. He one of was sworn at the time of the first audience of the Procès of Georges Danton and the dantonists.
