Joseph Ruau
Joseph Ruau (1865 - 1923), Politician French.
Born with Paris in 1865, of a family originating in Juzet-with Izaut. Young person lawyer, it is registered with the party of the radical left and it is under the radical label that it will carry out his political career, too early stopped by serious troubles of health.
It will be Maire of Aspet, Député of the Haute-Garonne of 1897 with 1914 and Minister for the Agriculture between 1905 and 1910.
He voted on July 3rd, 1905 the law of December 9th, 1905 concerning the separation of the Church and the State.
Aspet owes him, inter alia, small the Train which will connect between 1906 and 1936 Aspet to Saint-Gaudens, the construction of a Hôpital Rural (today Maison of children), Mairie, Abattoir. The town of Aspet made build, on the Place of the République, a bust with its memory, works of the Sculpteur carbonnais André Abbal.
