Joseph Pinchon
Emile-Joseph Porphyre Pinchon (born the April 17th 1871 with Amiens, deceased in 1953) is a French illustrator, pioneer of the cartoon and precursor of the clear Ligne. It is put at painting as of its more young age and becomes pupil of Cormon and Albert Besnard. But it decides to turn for food reasons to the illustration for the press in 1904, working in the small illustrated newspaper of youth .
The following year it launches on texts of Caumery (Maurice Lauguereau), Bécassine , in the week of Suzette . It draws until its death the adventures of this small good Breton rise in Paris.
Its activity is not limited to this series: he works for the Saint Nicolas , the Echo of Paris and France , creates in 1920 Frimousset , (with Jaboune).
During the Second world war, it always creates with the same author the Family Amulet and Grassouillet in Benjamin , then once the finished hostilities, it works in the Belgian magazine Wrill for which it creates Gilles of the Maquis , Gringalou , Olive and Bengali , Suzel , etc
It is buried with the Saint-Acheul cemetery (old) of Amiens.
