Joseph Manyanet there Sharp
Joseph Manyanet Vives (Tremp, Lérida, Spain, January 7th 1833 - 1901) is there a priest Catholique, founder of congregation, canonized by Jean-Paul II the May 16th 2004.
Biography
It is born in a many Christian family. It loses his father in 20 months. At the 5 years age, his/her mother dedicates it to the Virgin of Valldeflors, protective of the city. It must work to be able to pay its studies, which it makes with the college of the Congregation of Saint-Joseph de Calasanz of Barbastro and its seminar with Lérida and Seu of Urgell. It is ordered priest the April 9th 1859.After twelve years in the diocese of Urgell to the service of the bishop, having the posts of majordomo and personal secretary, mayor of the palate, librarian of the seminar, under-secretary of room and secretary of pastoral visit, it feels called by God with another thing, as the religious life what will carry out it to found two religious congregations.
The founder and the apostle of the Holy Family
In 1864, with the agreement of its bishop, it founds the congregation of the Fils of the Holy Family Jesus, Marie and Joseph , and, in 1874 the Filles missionaries of the Holy Family of Nazareth . Very attentive with the devotion towards the Holy Family , it wants that one imitates the Holy Family of Nazareth and as one contributes to the Christian training of the families, mainly by the education and the teaching of the children and the young people.
During nearly forty years, he guides the development of the institutes, by inaugurating schools, colleges and workshops in several towns of Spain.
He makes set up, with Barcelona, the expiatory temple of the Holy Family, carried out by the architect Antoni Gaudí, to clarify the virtues and the examples of the Family of Nazareth.
Some writings
He writes several works and opuscules to propagate piety towards the Holy Family of Jesus, Marie and Joseph:- it founds the review Sagrada Familia (the Holy Family).
- In Escuela de Nazaret Put there of Sagrada Familia (the School of Nazareth and Maison of the Holy Family) (Barcelona 1895), its spiritual autobiography, it describes dialogs of the heart, personified in Desideria (Desired) with Jesus, Marie and Joseph.
- Preciosa joya of familia (Invaluable treasure of family) (Barcelona 1899), is rather a guide for the husbands and the families, to which he recalls the dignity of the marriage like vocation and he underlines also the so important duty of Christian education their children.
- El Espíritu of Sagrada Familia (the Spirit of the Holy Family) is a book of meditations for the training of the monks: it described there the identity of the vocation and the mission of the monks and nuns Wire of the Holy Family in the company and the Church.
There exists also an edition of its Obras Selectas (Works selected) (Madrid 1991) and of its Obras Completas (Complete Works).
Illnesses and death
Several very painful diseases made it suffer throughout its life. During 16 years its health weakened gradually because of wounds open to the side. The December 17th 1901, it dies in Barcelona, the college Jesus, Marie and Joseph . Its skin rests with the vault-Pantheon of the same college.
The lawsuit of canonization
The Cause of Béatification was introduced in 1956; the heroicity of its virtues was recognized in 1982. It was Béatifié by Jean-Paul II in 1984, and canonized on May 16th, 2004.
Missionaries today
Today the two institutes are present in several countries of Europe, in North America, in South America and Africa.
