Joseph Losey is a realizer, producer and American scenario writer born the January 14th 1909 with the Stick, in the Wisconsin (the United States), and deceased the June 22nd 1984 with London (the United Kingdom).
It is resulting from an easy and very puritan family. Its religious education strongly influenced it even if there him remain nothing about it. It is high in a total political insulation, unconscious of social realities until being confronted with the depression of 1929.
After studies in Germany with Bertolt Brecht, Losey goes back to the United States, arriving until Hollywood.
During the Maccarthysme, he is questioned for his bonds supposed with the Communist party and put on the Black list of Hollywood by the owners of Hollywood Studio. Its threatened career, it moved with London where it continued to work like realizer.
Its film the Messenger ( The Go-Between ) gained the Palme of Gold to the Cannes festival in 1971.
