Joseph Henri Joachim Woolly
Joseph Henri Joachim , Viscount Woolly , born the November 11th 1768 with Bordeaux and dead the December 17th 1835 with Paris, is a French lawyer and politician.
Trader in Bordeaux, it was then accepted lawyer in 1789 and pled with a great success in Paris. Named administrator of the district of Réole in 1793, it takes again its lawyer trade during the Directoire. Named member of the legislative Body in 1808, it showed, in this assembly, a singular independence. He was again appointed under the Restauration, president of the House of Commons and Minister of Interior Department between 1816 and 1818, par of France, without never ceasing making appear in him the partisan of constitutional freedom. It is him which says, in 1830, at the time of the ordinances: “The kings from go away! ”
Named by ordinance (but not elected) member of the French Academy, it replaces Hugues-Bernard Maret in 1816. In its role of public figure, Lainé did not leave writings. Its eloquence, with the judgment of the contemporaries, was cordial and involving.
