Joseph Harold Greenberg (New York, May 28th 1915 - Palo Alto May 7th 2001) was a American Linguiste known for its work in classification and linguistic typology. It passed the essence of its career to the Université Stanford.
It contributed in an important way to the linguistic Typologie from its research on the linguistic Universaux. It also worked out a new classification of the African languages. Moreover, more extensive regroupings for the already known languages such as discussed the family of the Amerindian Langues proposed.
