Joseph Grandgagnage

François-Charles-Joseph Grandgagnage (Namur 1797 - Embourg 1877) is a Belgian writer .

In its Wallonades , collection of humorous poems, it forges the word Wallonia in 1844 (written with two N ). He was also a paradoxical writer, trying to found a literature of Wallonia, in particular by the work of the Walloon and French. Known for his literary works, Joseph Grandgagnage carried out also a brilliant career of magistrate, since it was allowed with the retirement like first president of the Court of Appeal of Liege. He pointed out himself in 1864 by his adhesion with Association for the abolition of the capital punishment.
