Joseph Galloway
Joseph Galloway (1731– August 10th 1803) was an American loyal supporter during the American Révolution after being delegated Pennsylvania to the First Congress continental.
Born with West To rivet (Maryland), it followed his father to Pennsylvania in 1740, where it accepted a liberal education. He studied the right and began his career with Philadelphia. He sat at the assembly of Pennsylvania (1757-1775) and was Speaker thereafter off the House (1766-1774). With the continental Congress, he proposed a plan of compromise with Great Britain, in order to avoid the secession of the thirteen colonies ( Galloway' S Plan off Union ). There remained faithful to the Crown and lined up as regards loyal supporter. In December 1776, Galloway joined the English general William Howe. It left for London in 1778 and was condemned by the general meeting of New York for treason. He died in Watford, in the Hertfordshire, on August 29th 1803.
