Joseph Emile Middle-class
General and Senator born with Holy Marie-with-Mines on February 22nd, 1857, deceased in Paris VIIe on November 10th, 1945. It was Maire of Sainte Marie-with-Mines from December 23rd, 1919 to July 7th, 1924 dates to which it resigned to protest against the introduction of laic laws that the Municipal council had voted in his absence.
He was elected Senator of the Haut-Rhin in 1920, then re-elected in 1927, like representative of the Republican Popular union.
