Joseph Bruce Ismay

Joseph Bruce Ismay (December 12th 1862 - October 15th 1937) was an English business man. He was born the December 12th 1862 with Crosby, Merseyside. He was the oldest son of Thomas Henry Ismay who died in 1899. He takes the succession of his father to the head of the White Star Line. In 1912, it goes up on board the Titanic to attend its inaugural crossing, it was run away while going up in the boat C, the last with being put at the sea. Its rescue was regarded as a desertion and its behavior was very criticized by the press. The board of inquiry reproached him for having privileged the Publicité with the Sécurité while making accelerate the Paquebot. It was constrained to resign of its functions in 1913. It financed then several foundations intended for the widows of the Titanic . It completely withdrew business world in 1934. Following a cardiovascular disease, one cut down it by the right leg. He died in 1937 at 75 years.
