Joseph Bedier is resistant Second world war, born in 1916 with Angers and deceased in 1945 with Mauthausen.

Biography

Sales representative of profession, Joseph Bedier is mobilized in September 1939. After the Armistice of 1940, it integrates resistance as a connection and intelligence agent.

The Gestapo stops it in its residence the March 3rd 1942 and initially takes it along to the Pre-Pigeon, Angers, then with Compiegne, before being off-set with Mauthausen where it will lose the life the March 30th 1945, a few days before the release of the camp by the allies.

For information, the Pre-Pigeon is the district, and the nickname of the Prison, 1 place Olivier Giran.

A boulevard of Angers bears its name since the March 23rd 1953
