From September 15th to 19th 1863, it is with Lourdes to return visit to Bernadette Soubirous which will describe to him its visions of the Virgin Mary of which it makes a statue under the control of the Blanc abbot who wishes before very that the statue is faithful to the matter of the conspicuous one. This statue, financed by two named Lyons young ladies Lacour, is intended for the crypt of the Basilique of the Immaculate-Design of Doors and is devoted on April 4th 1864 in front of vingt-mille people. Masterpiece of the artist, this statue was however at the origin of a polemic on its adequacy with the visions of the young country-woman of Doors.
