Joseph-Barthelemy de Ricard
Joseph-Barthelemy-Honore-Louis-Amable de Ricard (November 17th 1787 with Sète (Herault) - April 12th 1867 with Paris 17th) was a Militaire French, officer of the Napoleonean troops , then Général at the time of the reign of Louis-Philippe Ier. He is the son of Jean Louis de Ricard (1757-?) and of Marie Therese Amable Guey.
Career
Countryside of Spain
The March 23rd 1806, Joseph-Barthelemy de Ricard between with the military academy of Fontainebleau and obtains the same year its patent of second lieutenant to the 4e regiment of the hunters with horse, which is then stationed in the Royaume of Naples. The peace which reigns then in this part of the Italy encourages the Ricard young person to require his change in a combat unit. It is affected with the 10e hunters with horse and fact with this regiment the countryside of Spain of 1808 with 1810.The cousins of the second lieutenant Ricard, Clary, nephews of Joseph Bonaparte then king d' Espagne, promise their support to him if it passes to the service of the Spanish army. He refuses their offer and is promoted lieutenant and assistance-of-camp of the general Barbon who orders from Ancone, the October 7th 1810.
Large army and Restoration
Named captain the August 21st 1813, Ricard, with the Large army, takes part in the campaigns of Russia, Germany and of France, of 1813 with 1814, then is put of availability at the time of the First Restoration.At the time of the return of Napoleon i during the Hundred days, it is affected with the 7e regiment of hussards. It is charged to organize the 8e company of this regiment with Abbeville, but whereas it travels to join the troops with Waterloo, he receives the news of the disaster and the order to return to the deposit. A little later it is affected with a regiment of lancers, ordered by the Chatry lieutenant-colonel of the Pit. This body is one of the last which crosses the the Loire. The captain is again put of availability. At the time of the reorganization of the army, colonel Trobriant, 7e hussards, obtains the recall of the Ricard captain and his nomination with the 2e regiment of the hunters with horse.
In 1818, the Ricard captain is sent to his request with Martinique like assistant of the staff of the governor, François Xavier de Donzelot; it joined there his/her father, then administrator of the marine.
In 1822, the staff is reduced, it is affected with the 2e battalion of Martinique. The January 6th 1826, the Ricard captain is transferred to the 1er regiment from infantry from the royal guard whose it is named chief of staff near the governor; in 1829 this station is removed, and ordering it Ricard is again put of availability.
The November 22nd 1829, Ricard is promoted major and affected with the 25e of line; the October 23rd 1832, it is high with the rank of lieutenant-colonel, then the 1er January 1838 appointed colonel of the 5e of light infantry. Already decorated in 1815, it receives the Croix of Saint-Louis in 1822 and the cross of officer in 1836. Named Brigadier general the April 20th 1845 and ordering Legion of honor, it is placed at the head of a brigade of infantry of the garrison of Paris.
